The hotel was built in 1983 and has been renovated several times, most recently
in spring 2005. Thus the hotel 's standards are always up to date and
the hotel well worth a visit. A professional manager takes care of the daily management but almost every hour of the day one of the three owners can be found
on the premises. The hotel is owned by the Alanya family. Alanya is actually their last name and rumour
has it that they are Princes of Alanya. The true story about their
last name is actually well worth telling.
In 1935 Turkey's President Mustafa Kemel Atatürk decided that everybody should have a
surname. The then head of the family asked the officials who were travelling around if he could choose any name. The answer was yes, which resulted in
one of his neighbours quickly choosing "Tepe" , the name of the village in the mountains behind Alanya where they lived. The head of the family thought for a while and said: "Then I want the name of that town!"
